Jade Wrap Skirt Expansion Pack

Comfortable and quick to whip up, you’ll have a dozen beautiful Jade Wrap Skirts in your wardrobe before you know it with this free Skirt Expansion Pack.

 

This is not a complete pattern – you will need your original Jade Wrap Dress pattern to use this expansion pack.

 

 

The Details

If sleek A-line skirts are your thing, then the Jade Wrap Skirt Expansion Pack gives you the option to extend your current Jade Dress pattern into an easy to wear back wrap skirt.

The Jade Wrap Skirt includes side seam pockets and falls gracefully to below the knee. The back skirt overlaps almost side seam to side seam (it’s stepped back just a smidge so you can’t see the edge of the skirt when looking from the front), meaning you have plenty of coverage across the back – even in windy weather.

The long ties give you the option of a dramatic front or side bow, and these lengths are easily adjusted for your own personal preferences – making them shorter for a less show bow or longer to give the option of tying in the back.

There are no additional closures needed for your skirt – the underside tie is threaded through a buttonhole made on your sewing machine, which makes for a quick and easy sew, with no extra fuss.

Jade can be made in both floatier fabrics with some drape for hot weather (think cool linens and floaty cottons) as well as heavier weight fabrics like denim and wool suitings for a crisper finish in cold weather.

Wear your Jade Wrap Skirt with a short or long sleeved Gable Top, or try the blouson style of the Luna Lounge Set blouse or Aisling Blouse for some extra whimsy.

 

 

Skill Level

The Jade Wrap Skirt is suitable for beginner seamstresses.

While Jade has no additional fastenings, you’ll be learning about sewing in-seam pockets and buttonholes as well as top-stitching.

 

 

Using your Expansion Pack

I’ve designed this expansion pack so that there is no need to re-print your Jade Wrap Dress pattern. Simply print out the expansion pattern and grab your already printed skirt and pocket pieces from your dress pattern.

This Expansion Pack includes a skirt waistband and waist ties, as well as the additional instructions needed for constructing your wrap skirt.

Please note that the expansion instructions refer to your original instructions often where techniques and steps are the same – so keep these handy during construction.

My Jade Wrap Skirt is made from a light-weight vintage wool blend, lined with a polyester lining. It is shown paired with a Gable Top.

 

Sizing

The Jade Wrap Skirt includes both the Original and Curve size ranges. The Original includes sizes 6-24, and the Curve includes sizes 16 to 34.
